We had a water heater replaced and Bear Valley was very professional during the entire process. Brian S. replaced the unit and refurbished the water heater closet (it definitely needed it badly). He also made suggestions on some of our other plumbing and was good at explaining everything that he did. I’m not sure that their price is the cheapest, but I’d rather have a job well done rather than use the lowest cost outfit. I recommend them and would use Bear Valley again.

We would really love to tell the world how great it was to have Brian S working on our clogged sewer line while we were having a birthday party for our 3 year old Great Granddaughter. He was great – He could tell we were really having a bad day with no Toilet since 10 am in the morning and 25 family members making ‘runs’ here and there. He was able to clear the line enough ( from roots) so we could use it but it will require scoping to see where the clog is and where we will go from there. “Called initially because mice had chewed the wire to the igniter switch on our water heater. In the meantime, DWP came by to let us know we had a leak somewhere in our galvanized pipe water system – found the leak in a shut-off ball valve in a box in the ground and shut the water off. We got a return call from Rebecca at BVP&H who let us know that Brian S. was on the way. When he arrived, he took a look at both situations and gave me a total price for both jobs. He took care of the galvanized pipe/valve replacement right away so we could turn the water back on, then replaced the spark ignition wire in the water heater, lit the pilot and tested the unit. First of all, the same day that I called Bear Valley Plumbing and Heating concerning a stuck Stop and Waste Valve, a Service Rep was sent to my home to assess my problem. A phone call was made before he arrived to be sure that I was home, as well as sparing the Service Rep a wasted house call. Within the same day, a friendly office manager/appointment person called the make the appointment for work to be done. The day of the appointment, Zack, a Plumbing Specialist, pulled into he front of my place 30 minutes early, introduced himself, and briefly went through the procedure he would be doing to replace the stop and waste valve. Zack answered a few of my questions, and then started work. I had other work to do and after a few hours I noticed that Bryan, another service employee of Bear Valley Plumbing and Heating had joined Zack. Bryan also introduced himself, adding that with both him and Zack working together would be able to get the replacement of the Stop and Waste Valve done sooner. All of the promised work was completed with in that day, at the agreed upon price. **Probably the one thing that struck me more than the work which was completed to my satisfaction, was the team work concept that I learned as a kid, later reinforced while in the military, hasn’t been lost at Bear Valley Plumbing and Heating. To see Bryan show up to help Zack finish up so that both could get home to their families on time is truly a act of team work and friendship. “I awoke yesterday to a very cold house. My furnace decided that it did not want to work. After much research, I called Bear Valley Plumbing & Heating at 11:30 am. All of my information was taken in that initial call and passed to dispatch. Dispatch called back at 11:44 am to tell me my window for a technician to arrive was between noon and 2 pm. At 12:19 pm I received another call to tell me Bryan was on his way. Bryan arrived within 30 minutes. Before I proceed further, that process of connecting the customer and the service personnel impressed me with the type of company Bear Valley Plumbing & Heating is by keeping the customer in the “loop”. Kudos to the management and office staff for having the environment that makes the customer important. True to form, my furnace started right up once Bryan arrived. Restarting it over again, he could not make it fail. He explained many of the things that it could have been, but would not “go chasing” anything, given the current situation, but to keep their number handy, just in case. “My first experience was my new home in Big Bear Lake in June with Quinten & Bryan. In one day they replaced my water heater, outside hose bib, and repaired wall and insulation in the water heater closet that was causing pipes to freeze and chipmunks to get in under my bathtub. Then, the day before Thanksgiving my tenant said there was a leak in their cabin. I was able to stop the leak by shutting off the water. I called BVP&H around 11am. They were busy, but Quinten made it out just after noon. He had to open up the wall to get to the leak, but by 6pm Brian had all of the plumbing repairs done with fans going to try and dry out the wall and floors.”

“One call for assistance……….. Our furnaces for our large two story home had stopped working in the middle of a snow storm, where outside temps were 17 degrees. A return call came back almost immediately…. and a Bryan repairman came out later in the afternoon, to check BOTH furnaces in the dead of Winter with winds blowing, snow blowing and temps so low, that nearly everything froze that could freeze…. bending like a pretzel to get around the cramped space beneath the house and also up into the attic….. a diagnosis was determined…. suggestions discussed with us, and a decision was made. BOTH furnaces were broken and worn out (all the broken parts were shown to us…. and yes it was amazing that they had lasted the 30 yrs since they were installed (most furnaces last only 10 to 15 yrs)…. too old to get parts, and would cost more to patch together…. a decision to purchase NEW furnaces was made. At this busy Christmas Winter season, they were able to find one of the needed furnaces from a company off the hill that could fit into a crazy Small space, and that they could install in the crawl space beneath the house for the downstairs area and worked feverishly all day and into the night so that we could have heat for CHRISTMAS (since we were full time residents in Big Bear Lake). The heater works very well…. The second furnace will be installed the first week of January for the upstairs, (which will be a complicated installation as well… but we are confident that BVP & H will be up for the task). I forgot to mention that Bryan (with a ‘y’) came out and made the determination of what needed to be done…. and Brian (with an ‘i’) came out and was the installer. Brian, the installer, was working in temps. that ranged from 7 degrees (when wind chill was factored in)… to a high of 17 degrees…. this made it EXTREMELY difficult to handle tools, and move around in tight spaces (the builders obviously installed both furnaces and built the house around them, never thinking that replacement would ever be considered)….. because of the age of the old furnaces and the ‘strange’ way that they had been originally installed, this required an experienced installer’s ingenuity and expertise to figure out how to install the modern NEW furnaces to the old ‘strange’ ducting…Brian is definitely the ‘go to guy’ to figuring installations that are clean and neat and function properly. Our hats are off to the professionalism of Bear Valley Plumbing and Heating for their prompt response, attention to OUR needs, and understanding in the time of year and Season…. Thank you Bob…. your company is a well oiled machine….. to your credit.”
